About

Hey, I’m Harsh 👋

I’m an Electrical Engineering student at NIT Hamirpur, India — but I spend most of my time writing code, breaking things, and building them back up.

I’m an open-source contributor, embedded systems tinkerer, and backend developer. I care about building things that actually work — from firmware running on microcontrollers to CI/CD pipelines running on GitLab.

What I’m Working On

Currently contributing to GNOME / GIMP on GitLab — I built a unit testing framework from scratch covering 65+ core library files, integrated it into CI/CD pipelines, and found a pipeline bug that was silently doubling resource usage on every commit.

When I’m not writing test suites, I’m usually soldering something, flashing firmware, or figuring out why a Raspberry Pi isn’t doing what I told it to.

Things I Build With

Languages — Python, Kotlin, C, C++, Bash, SQL
Embedded & Hardware — Raspberry Pi, ESP32, PCB Design (KiCad), Power Circuits
Backend — Django, Firebase, MySQL
Android — Jetpack Compose, Navigation, Firebase Auth
Tooling — Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, FFmpeg, Linux

A Few Things I’ve Built

  • Real-Time CCTV System — Raspberry Pi Zero with motion detection, live streaming, and FFmpeg-based video pipeline
  • Network-Wide Ad Blocker — Custom DNS server on Raspberry Pi filtering ads for every device on the network
  • AyurGyanam — Full-stack Android app for herbal health with Django backend and Firebase auth
  • NetSecure — Android app that tunnels all network traffic through a custom VPN to monitor and quantify data flows

Beyond Code

I’m also a excutive at SPEC NITH where I help organize Electrothon — one of India’s larger MLH-backed hackathons with 2500+ registrations. I’ve managed everything from venue logistics to technical infrastructure across multiple editions.
